A rose

It looks as if it's detached, just floating around, this brave little rose in our garden. It has been - literally - freezing cold over the last few nights, but this little thing is still radiating summer and warmth and sharing its beautiful colours. Just wanted to share this little bit of sunshine with you.

Great shot Lidy, this is just a perfect image I am truly lost for words.

Lidy, you have captured the detail perfectly. I would have gone for a square crop, buts thats just my opinion.

For the depth of detail of the petals, this is almost surgical isolation.

I agree with Peter, a square crop may be an option as there is still enough detail to the left to draw attention.

@Gareth: I used the Tamron 28-75, a great lens!

@ Peter and K10D: I'll try a square crop some time this week. I'm not sure if it'll work for this picture though. For some reason I quite like the space on the left, but I can see what you mean about the possibly distracting detail there.
