a potential convert

Hello All,
Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone.

I am not a Pentax user - YET! I have been a Canon man for over forty years (yes, I am an ode git!) but I will be having a close look at the remarkable K5 very soon and I suspect I will be joining the ranks as a result.

I look forward to sharing my passion with you all very soon.

I too am an Old git...well you put ode but I think you meant old.

I too am a Canon man - (1 x 500D - well rebel version and 2 X 50D's) and have been for ages

I have a K5 ....and a K200D

I like both systems - the kit lens feels vastly superior in use than the canon version. In use I think the 50D is ...well perfection really - I don't think it can be bettered... the K5 ... is also very nice to use and if you shoot in RAW (you do shoot in RAW don't you ? ... you do don't you ?) you'll be amazed how much you can drag out of highlights and how clean such images will look

You're in good hands - any question you'll get some good answers ..... and some rubbish too

welcome to the forum.
yes, I can see your reason for changing to Pentax and the K-5 is a superb bit of kit and at a reasonable price.
I have used many camera brands and not long ago came back to the K-5, for my Macro and wildlife.
for value for money the K-5 is the best.
