A mild winters day

I love these. The ice seems like 3D. My absolute favourite is the close up view in No. 3 where you've isolated just the essential elements of the picture. The colour in the vessel contrasts superbly with the mono ice and water.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Prieni these make me cold just looking at them. Those ice-floes are really something! I love 1 and 3. Still no let-up in yout big chill, I see. We had a lovely day in Somerset. The temperature soared to 5 degrees above freezing; I took several photographs without gloves on!

Well this winter is a bit stronger than the last few years. I only live here since 2005 and this is the strongest winter since.
I think the last time that we had ice like that in Rostock was in 2003 (incidentally my wife and I were in Rostock that winter and I have some old shots with ice on the coast).
I do remember another winter a good while back when I still lived in Kiel, a bit more to the west. The Kiel fjord was frozen then and that was the first time I was walking on the Baltic.
Andrew, that is a very nice landscape and the weather does look fine! I'm sure once the big thaw sets in we will have some scenery like that around.

Great ice Prieni! It's gotta be number 3 for me too. I love the simplicity of it.
