there was a time when those HUGE, WHOPPING, FAST four gigabyte hard drives were considered, to unstable for storing valuable data, and us photogs needed zip drives with thier 100 megs of safety.

with a card like that, wifi and an applescript or automator program, the though occurs to me that I'd never have to think about "Manually" downloading ever again.

Camera comes withing range of one of my macs, connects, downloads to aperture, backs up, then erases images from camera...
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

I see where you are coming from Don, do you think we could get Steve Jobs to speak to Pentax for us Mac users ?

Wi-fi, connecting the new Pentax-Mac camera, the Pentax-Mac_1D, and the MacBooks and the new wi-fi iPod ?

Well I can dream.

I'll stay with my 1GB SD cards, 92 images on one card is a nice number for me.
And it's only Sandisk Extreme III or a equivalent for me. I had a few el-cheapo cards which caused some problems. Luckily only one image was faulty but I don't trust them anymore. (and I have never seen a cheap card get close to the stated transfer performance.)
