The thing I have always found fascinating in photography over these last 50 years odd, has been the relationship between its Art & its Science.
I have always tried to blur the junction between the two.
Not always with success.....

Then you arrive with this set Derek.

I don't think I've seen a set before that not only reveals the combination of Art & Science so well & so completely but also illustrates a thought process evolving as well!

These have been, are &, I hope will continue to be, wonderful.

Thank you for that Roger, The product of a curious mind I guess, I like to understand things and the way in which things work. I have enjoyed this learning process and it has allowed me to create some unusual images, I have never, until now actually created something Like art, I have managed to capture some wonderful scenes that were in front of me, but not actually created something from nothing.
I hope I can continue this for a while and develop it some more,
I am glad that others have found it interesting too.

Fantastic project - art and technique combined. I liked several of the earliest ones you posted and then along came the later ones which were even better.

Cheers David and Kris, its a pretty harmless way to pass the time and i am enjoying the thought process and the output has really surpassed anything I had originally envisioned.

This one is just a plain old ellipse,
Pendulum was around 16 ft long, the swing from left to right was around 13 ft, 5 min 23 sec exp. I got fed up waiting, as the swing is very slow, was just trying it out to see if there was much if any difference when the pendulum is that long. I learned a couple of things from it.
colour balance is as shot, its blue for some reason.
