Just a few from today, following lennyblokes advice, i allowed myself to be distracted from digging and took some shots instead.

Apologies for concentrating on the shield bug, it was the first time i have seen one while i had a camera, had to make the most of it.

K3ii + 105mm macro + 2 tubes + ringflash and my patented ringflash diffuser

Thanks Derek,

I'm surprised you were as far away as that, was expecting you to have been 3 to 4 inches

The last one of the first set is the stand-out Derek, for me it's the angle used that makes it so good. The Shield bugs are hard to photograph because they are quite large and DOF is an issue, but that doesn't matter given the way you have taken it.

Congratulations on POTW, it's well deserved and I'm glad to see macro being recognised as it's often overlooked.

David
