Swansea Air Show was on the weekend just gone, most of the aircraft were based at Swansea but a few were located here at St Athan. These all were shot with the K1 in crop mode and the 120-400mm Sigma so it was a '600mm' telephoto.

Great images, Gareth. Lancaster particularly resonates having just watched the TV series 'British planes that won the war' with Rob Bell.

The rear tail-end gunner was the most exposed and exiting the aircraft when it had been hit was almost impossible. A good series.

Coming from an aviation world with hydraulics and other flight control aids, as well as excellent navaids, I take my hat off to the folk who flew these aircraft. Incredible skill. And incredibly brave when you think of the percentage of flight crews who lost their lives.
Be well, stay safe.

Thanks Kevin, I heard about the rear gunner 'issue' and it's amazing to think these guys went up into the skies knowing that and the fact they could be shot down, true bravery
