The cottages is a winner for me. Great processing. The deck chairs next in the pecking order. That last shot gives the impression of model boats, just something about the scaling.

Cave, Jacob (great composition, but overprocessed a tad), Deckchairs and model boats are my favourites. Then lively lady.

Cottages is my least favourite because even if that wasn't the intention it looks like modern pic processed to to look vintage.

The Seagull shot could be made into something with some judicious cropping.

Nice varied set though.

Looks like you had a great time down there. An interesting and varied set. They all have some merit. I like the Lively Lady, deck chairs and Jacob's Ladder although, as Smeggy says, it is a bit sudden. The cottage shot is the weakest, I feel, I like vintage looking shots but this one's a bit half-hearted.

thanks for all the comments, they are full sized boats although i see what you mean, the cottages seem a love or hate thing from the reactions it has had, with Lively Lady i liked the fact they had paid to go fishing and had to launch the boat to do it.

A town called Beer sounds my kind of place. A nice collection.

I like a bit of vintage treatment. For it to work for me though then it really needs to look like a vintage image with all that entails. The windows don't look right to me - there is a suspicion of PVC. But it is the overall impression on first sight, the ultra wide angle that just betrays any authenticity for me.

I like the second, nice warm tones, a natural looking landscape shot and the simple composition does it justice.

Deckchairs is a tried and tested motif, I think this needs a little more space.

All the shots have a bit of a harsh look about the processing. That could be down to resizing, or maybe too sharp in places. It is accentuated too by the strong contrast of a nice day. I wonder if that contrast might suit mono.

A good sense of place conveyed with this set.

Jacobs Ladder is my favourite, because of it's dramatic composition. The beach for it's natural look and the bird for the story telling, but I'd crop off the people queuing.

Are these bigger pictures that the forum software has reduced to 800px?

If so, it's created some horrible jaggies, especially on the deckchairs.

thanks for looking and commenting, you are right DrO it would have been nice to have had original windows. bforbes , smeggy also felt it wanted a crop i was not sure what he felt was wanted but you have it spot and agree on looking again at it, yes Chris they have been resized by the site but also i have been trying different sharpening methods so could be a combination of the two.

somenice shots there. Think Beach and deck chairs are my favourites.. jacobs looks like it's been overly processed - looks like B & W HDR but overdone .. be intrigued to see a plainer B & W or even colour version.
