A day out at the coast (2)

Bempton is well known for its seasonal seabird population - in particular gannets, puffins and kittiwakes. I have spent many hours in the past with long lenses and lots of patience! No more! But still a fascinating place to get a glimpse of how these creatures live! Still K-1 + D FA 28-105 - enough for a broader view of the environment.

Well done with the 3 series of naturalistic photos. We had a holiday there 2 years ago and visited the RSPB reserve on a lovely day and enjoyed the walk and the birds. Saw our first puffins in the flesh. We make a point of visiting RSPB reserves when we are travelling around now. Still can't recognise birds but usually there is someone knowledgeable with a spotter scope who is only too happy to help.

Thank you, Peter - glad you enjoyed them. I don't think you need to be an expert on birds to be impressed by the way these creatures live and act.

I don't know what the bids are called but I'd love to shoot them. I think from memory when courting they wrap their heads and beaks around each other?
