Butcher, rather than Houghton. These were a range of German-made roll film cameras which will date up to 1914 when they stopped using German stuff. It was at around that date that they pooled with Houghton. It probably has a removable back for using plate adaptor too.

A small disc on the camera has the words "The Carbine" on it. So for I have been able to trace this to cameras made by Houghton, Butcher Co. Ltd. of London, but none of their cameras, i've seen, have the shutter speed and aperture selection configuration of this camera.
Any comments would be appreciated
