K200D or K10D

I bought the K10D over the K200D after asking the same question here and although it is quite a steep learning curve I think my choice was the right one if for nothing more than the extra wheel.

Ok - its make your mind up time!

These are the two finalists:

Possibly the last new K10D in the country (demo model) with a mk2 18-55 @ £365
or
K200D + 18-55 Mk2 Lens @ £377. Edit: forgot the £50 cashback. Make that £327.

K10D for extra control wheel and pentaprism viewfinder.

K10 as hefty's post, you won't regret it..

I had the K10 when the K200 was not available. The K200 does benefit from a better dynamic range and function settings (if you would use them) most other things seem similar in design.

Under the circumstances you mention, I would perhaps go for the K200D just for the extra dynamic range, function buttons and that it is a current model. That is my opinion, either way for the money stated you will have a good camera.

Another for the K10D

Reading the review I came across this

D-Range doesn't appear to interact with the camera's exposure metering, so users who shoot exclusively in RAW mode will not see any effect (it's a post-shot processing step so it only appears in JPEGs).

If you shoot raw you wont have a difference since the senors are also the same in the K10D and the K200D so they will capture the same detials and dynamic-range.
The K200D is a strip down K10D with some new software features and scenemodes. The two controll wheels and the prisma would make me chose the K10D over the K200D, I simply can't without those things, certainly not the 2 controll wheels.

so what does the k10d have over the k200d in terms of focus, because my k200 has single focus, continious focus, good for tracking moving objects, and manual focus.

What about the GX-10? Park are selling this for £279 with the kit lens or with the kit lens and 50-200mm for £349. All brand new with a 2 year warranty.

or a samsung gx20 for £399 from digitalcamera exchange.

I must admit that I would go for the GX20 as its only a little extra.

I know I'm very tempted myself. But, I fancy a 12-24 lens and cant make up my mind:

They actually have the same focus system (as well as the same sensor) so you're not missing out. The difference is that the K10D has a 3-way selector next to the lens mount whereas the K200D has a 2-way one (with the choice of AF mode being made in menus). It's a small detail but another point to the K10D as far as I'm concerned...
