Well, assuming I am first to buy a 70mm Ltd, I am happy to report that this lens is fabulous. I now know what the Ltd lens series 3D effect looks like. It's also very discreet. Fitted to the DL, it's an unobtrusive long lens, perfect for candids.
I am also highly impressed with the fit and finish. It has the cold metal feel of my ME super. Wonderful.

I will second this. It is a brilliant lens and very sharp. I love the Bokeh and the handling and manufacture. Expensive yes, but you definitely get what you pay for. Coupled with the DL, it is a dream, moderate telephoto, and no weight.

This photo is just half of a floor, on a three floor house.
I am now wondering, my manual lenses produced nice photos, and yet, photos taken with the Limited series of lenses are far sharper. Could it be that older lenses are just fine on older cameras and the new DA lenses are better on the digital cameras that they are designed for - whereas the older lenses are not at their best with the newer digital gear?

I've been lurking here for ages. The extent of knowledge and experience never fails to amaze me.
Ok, crawling over, I want to add a decent quality modern generation lens to my collection and am very tempted by the 70mm Ltd. It looks to be ideal for portraits and candids out in the mean streets of Manchester.
I have a K85/1.8 that I loved using on my ME super but I find it too long on the ist DL and hardly use it. My F50/1.7 is great but a tad short for some portraits.
Has anyone used the 70mm Ltd yet and can comment on it in any way before I blow this year's CBA (Camera Buying Allowance) on it?
Thanks in advance
