67 on front cover

It's not often Pentax get onto the front cover of a national newspaper but today a Pentax 67 has made it onto the front cover of the Independent. Some model is taking photos in Peru and it seems she might use a Pentax 67.

From this I deduce she is no modern stick insect model as she is strong enough to pick it up and use it

I spotted that too Mike. Have not got round to reading the article yet.

Skimmed it - not all that interesting but maybe more attention would get more value.

I think you are talking about Helene Christensen, she in an ex model but still has the looks! I read about her since she is from my country and uses that just about anything for her photography, but mostly that big old Pentax. Oh yeah, and I did see her on the beach once

I assumed that they were just stock pictures from some time ago and that's why she was using an older camera. If those are recent photos she certainly does still have the looks.

Did you notice that in the large version of the cover picture inside the paper 'Pentax' had been blacked out on both the camera and the lens?

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Was it? I noticed there seemed to be some white Velcro or something on the Pentaprism which I thought was odd. I'll dig the paper out of the bin and look. Can't see why they would do that.

He's right you know but not the Ashai. (You can see why he's an academic research type chappie can't you).

I might email and ask why.

It seems doubly odd given that the camera is so distinctive. Is there any camera that looks like a 67?

Ah but if you'd taken the time to check the EXIF you'd have discovered that the image is recent and was taken on a Nikon D3, and one with a rather grubby sensor at that

See would then be 40 in that photo, she looks amazing if that's true.

You're an ageist. 40 isn't old.

And what age do you see yourself as now George?

I know I don't have a mental image of myself as anything near my actual 57 years so I consistently under estimate the age of others! I refer to 'that old boy over there' and then realise he's younger than me.
