Basic question, but I can't find an answer. I've used 32GB cards without problems, but I need to get some more cards. I'd like to move to 64GB - will this work?

Hi, That's a yes an early firmware update (1.02 link allowed SDXC cards of higher capacity than 32mb but not higher speed. You can use any. I think the write limit on a K5 is 30 mb/s Not in the original handbook. The K3 now allows faster cards.

That's correct. I should have specified that I was talking about K5 Mk1

I was referring to the K5 (it doesn't say MK I on it) the patch for over 32gb is from 1.02 onwards as the link to the firmware page I posted says.

Even with the sizes of most current computer hard drives, that not everyone has that large of a computer hard drive... That stated, please remember; if one happens to have a computer platter type hard drive, that hard drive will need to be at least twice the size of any camera memory card.

Try to defeat that rule with mot computers; then one will run into issues when trying to defrag a platter hard drive

The K5 can take any size of SD card.. But anything with a transfer speed greater than 85mb/sec would be pointless as that would be above the cameras transfer rate.
