Let them first bring the thing out, how long has it been now, almost 4 years if not longer, might be the longest developed camera in the world

it does look like a 16x9 frame, and the Filmstrip edges might mean 24p mode for "Film" look....

I understand that the 645D is going to be limited and only available in Japan.
If this is the case how long do you think it would be before it is available in the UK and USA.

how ever long it takes for Pentax to assess the market.... if the demand is there, they'll supply, or someone else will grab the opportunity.

Maybe they don't think they can produce enough for the whole world so they just bring it out in Japan and when they have a bigger storage they go world wide with it???

Quite a few models over the years have had a Japan-only run until Pentax were satisfied that they could launch worldwide.

It is possible to order Japanese only items via http://www.japanexposures.com/services/#equipment
(and I have been told this may be useful for hard to get second hand items as well)
