The FA was designed for film cameras , so full frame and has an aperture ring and screwdrive focus. And a third to half the price of the new one!
The DA was designed for digital so has no aperture ring and has a SDM focus motor . As Pentax use an APSC size sensor ( smaller than full frame) the digital lenses MAY vignette (have dark corners) on a full frame camera.
.........all the gear, no idea!

And the DA* has a extra 5 mm. It's a 55 mm, you know
Filter size: 58mm, instead of the 49 mm of the FA 50.

Martin.

Edit: Stefan, I think he means the DA*. Talking about F 1,4.
Best regards,

Martin.
