If it's anything like the old Super A then selecting shutter priority mode will enable you to set the aperture - a rather crude way of doing so but it'll get the job done. As you adjust the shutter speed the camera will set the aperture to match, so you just need to find the shutter speed at which your desired aperture will be selected.

I use mine regularly on my M series bodies. It produces a brilliant compact SLR with a very useful field of view. I was skeptical about how good it could be (having read some poor reviews and thinking it wasn't worth the usual inflated prices) but for what I paid I'm happy. I certainly wouldn't pay £100+ for one.

I can vouch for the DA40/2.8 on an MZ5n - lovely combination, usable in program and shutter priority. I can tell the photos produced by this lens on film - great colour and sharpness.

i was toying around with the idea of swapping from the 40/2.8 da limited to a 40/2 voigtlander.

after researching more, i've decided against it. the voigtlander bokeh is significantly clumpier, to me at least, than the pentax.

I've just bought the 40mm F2.8, great pano lens for landscapes - virtually no distortion, I've not had chance to use it much so far but it certainly looks to be a great lens

thinking in this way. if pentax brings out a full-frame camera, what a great focal lenth as a walk-about lens with f2. my issue with DA 40mm is the maximum aperture f2.8. after having owned it for 6 months, i eventaully sold it and changed to a FA 35mm. i would not hesitate to take JONES' Voigland 40mm if Pentax full-frame DSLR is on the way.
