George makes a good point, its difficult to comment when someone posts the entire 'roll' without some self-critical editing first.

Then again, perhaps the self-critical qualities are learned in peer-review.

My suggestion was not to 'protect' the poster but the reviewers. If a photo is posted by someone you don't know it can be difficult to leave un-ansked for criticism.

If the picture is anonymous I think the feedback will be more honest.

There's no foolproof system. It has been known for a poster to ask for critique and then get defensive and argumentative when they get critique.

At that point the best course of action is to walk away.

i find this very interesting that every 1 is saying this but when i make a critique on some 1 shoot they have a go at me as u say John they do get defensive and they have a go at me iam not being rude just saying how it is i dont mean any hard in my world i have 2

Jeff as you've brought this up twice (on page 1 and on page 4) I presume you are looking for feedback. Maybe if you were to share your work people would see that not only can you talk the talk but can walk the walk

I think that's because you have no pictures uploaded so it's hard for people to judge where you're coming from. Also your comments are usually short with no punctuation so that leaves plenty of room for misunderstanding, and people may be seeing a 'tone' which isn't intended. And, while we all should forgive and forget, your entrance onto the forum was argumentative and sour, when you stoked controversy about the competitions.

If Jeff finds English difficult perhaps we could just give a bit of leeway and not jump to conclusions so quickly.

I think many of us would find it daunting to enter a foreign-language forum and try to join in fully.

2 i have brought this up twice as no 1 ansewed
3 have no pictures uploaded as do most others on the site and this should not make any diffrence

5 comming on to this site was hard at at the start people where i live say it as is i no that some did not like it when i tel them but if i dont i would be telling lies i dont want to do that i have had a lot of as u say pm that thank me so all not that bad
6 i do find the english very hard so a lot of the time i copy what others have put it would be better if i rite in German lol

Jeff I was just trying to explain why people may criticise you for some remarks, so you have an insight. It was not meant to be an attack, just advice as to how you can improve on how your posts come across.

By the way, I am on the French forum K par K, and despite my appalling French, still manage to use commas and full stops. If you do away with punctuation altogether, your words spill out and make you look like you are ranting
