What sort of money are you prepared to pay?
The lenses were all purchased second-hand, and are quite reasonable to look at and work perfectly. There is no fungus on any of them, and optics are clean. The 70-210 is very tidy indeed.

I'll give you £0.01 for the lot. If this isn't enough, please suggest an amount you'd accept. What sort of money are you prepared to pay?
I know this is silly, but it illustrates the difficulties with posting a classified ad without an asking price.
I do understand how it can sometimes be tricky to know what old gear is worth, but saying 'make me an offer' tends not to work unless the item is very much in demand.
In such cases, it's best IMO to either DYOR on eBay, find out what they're going for, and specify a similar asking price, or, as you say,

The other problem with selling here is that this forum is relatively well-educated in Pentax gear, compared with eBay buyers. So unless it's an item that's in great demand, recognised here as highly desirable, you're extremely unlikely to get the anomalously high prices that things often seem to go for on eBay.putting them on Ebay...
As well as asking prices, it's also usual* to post close-up, sharp pictures of the items, ensuring that any cosmetic imperfections are shown.

All quite fair comments.
I've moved on to a digital SLR, and after much research I moved on to Nikon and bought a D80.
I have had many years (nay, decades) experience with Pentax, owning an MX, Super A and an ME Super and the usual paraphernalia (winders, lenses, etc.) and the decision to move on was not easily made. In the end, I moved to Nikon for purely handling reasons. I feel/felt (perhaps wrongly) that Pentax were slightly behind with performance in the digital field.
But I hear what you say, and am going to take photographs of my Pentax gear anyway (for Ebay, this forum and anyone else who might be interested) and will post them on here if possible in the near future.
I haven't replaced the MX light seals yet, but will do so soon. Then, the equipment will be for sale.

Unfortunately, I cannot lay this out as a neat table as posting deletes all the extra spaces. For each item there are four numbers: no of sales I have a record of, minimum, average and maximum prices in pounds. Where n=1 just one price is given, when n=2 both prices given. Number of sales does not reflect how common they are on ebay, but my interest in that item.
MX (body, and/or various lenses) n=29 23.20 83.09 221.00
MX winder: n=7 13.05 27.26 37.01
Super A (body and/or various lenses) n=17 16.00 63.40 180.00
ME II winder n=11 2.20 13.34 26.00
35-105 zoom n=3 29.99 60.73 87.20
70-210 zoom n=1 17.00
50mm F1.4 n=7 56.00 81.17 113.00
AF200SA n=1 13.26
AF280T n=2 18.00 22.16
Hope this helps. Kris.

I'm not sure that helps at all. After all, the price on eBay also depends upon the condition of the item as well as the current mood of the buyers and the attractiveness of the listing.
Would you not be better to just put an asking price like in any advert - people will make offers if they want to.

I started keep the data because often I had no idea how much something might possibly go for. I was surprised, for example, at how much 50mm lenses sell for. I posted this simply so Dodge could say "I'll take 60 quid for the 50mm lens..." At least we have a start! I also check the prices on a second-hand camera shop's website I know (and trust their ratings for condition, not sure if I should say who here?).
Obviously, we all know that sometimes stuff goes for silly money on ebay, both silly too expensive and sometimes silly cheap.
Best wishes, Kris.

Nice work, Kris. I've been checking Ebay for the prices equipment like mine has gone for, and you're absolutely right. Recently, a mint MX body went for > £100 and a vgc Super A with 50mm standard went for < £50.
I would have to specify either a reserve or a starting price, I suppose. Wouldn't want to let it all go for pathetic money, but being realistic I'm not after robbing people either.
So, for you people who might be interested, here are my preferred prices:
PENTAX MX body : £75 (when light seals replaced)
PENTAX Super A body : £75 (recent shutter overhaul)
PENTAX MX winder : £20
PENTAX ME-II winder : £20
PENTAX 50mm f/1.4 SMC-A lens : £60
PENTAX 35mm-105mm f/3.5 SMC-A lens : £75
PENTAX 70mm-210mm f/4-5.6 SMC-A lens : £75
PENTAX AF200T TTL flash : £30
PENTAX AF280T TTL flash : £40
COBRA slave flash (small) : £5
PENTAX Flash bracket : £5
TOKINA 80mm-200mm PENTAX-A fit : £20
TOKINA 28mm f/2.8 PENTAX-A fit : £20
This is a starting point, and I welcome any replies or comments. Obviously, with film falling away from general public interest (and remaining the province of purists) prices are mostly subject to demand.
I live in Kent, England, in case anyone might be interested...

Handling and performance are surely different things. The D80 compares poorly with the K10D in terms of specification, features, and image quality. However, if you prefer the handling, well, that's a personal choice. In the end, I moved to Nikon for purely handling reasons. But it's a pity you never got to try the two-wheel approach to setting aperture/shutter, ISO, etc., that Pentax pioneered with the Z-1. In the opinion of many, it's the best system going.
I wonder what your research consisted of.

I notice that the Nikon D300 has a similar approach. They've taken the "Hyper-Program", and the Av/Tv dials. Only the ISO can't be changed by wheel - requires a button + wheel....that Pentax pioneered with the Z-1. In the opinion of many, it's the best system going.
Still can't beat the K10D/K20D two wheel approach

I never had a newer Pentax (for example the Z-1) so the "two wheel" system that is now used by the Nikon D300 is new to me as well.
We all make our choices and decisions based on our findings at the time, and when I was buying, I felt that the "kit lens" that came with the Nikon D80 (the 18-70 zoom) was a better starting point than the 18-55 zooms offered by most of the other brands.
I also preferred the look of the Nikon D80 to the other choices, Canon and Pentax, so perhaps that makes me slightly odd, perhaps not. I'm sure most of us consider aesthetics when making purchase decisions.
The Pentax K20D looks a great piece of kit, but it has arrived since I got the Nikon D80 so it's rather academic now.
All that said, I'm still offering my 35mm collection for sale and hope some of it is of interest to you.

There has been a high level of private messaging going on over the last couple of days, and I feel that to be fair to everyone I must explain the situation I now face.
Three people are interested in the flash bracket and the MX winder, and one of these people is also interested in the 50mm f/1.4 standard lens. Without wishing to offend any of the others here, I am going to sell those three items just mentioned to that person. Apologies to the other two; please understand that I have had to make this difficult decision purely on the strength of my intent to sell equipment.
To everyone else, if you want to see the items I am offering for sale, I have constructed a little web page. Please be aware that I consider the flash bracket, 50mm standard lens and MX winder to be "under offer" pending receipt of payment from the relevant person.

If anyone is interested in buying any of this equipment, please let me know. I intend to replace the light seals on the MX (which I bought new in 1981 at a tender age) as they are decomposing.
