3 Purple Flowers

An irresistable photographic temptation, these richly coloured flowers were buried deep within the forested area of Canazarro Gardens in Wimbledon. They seemed the ideal subject to show off the capabilities of the D FA28-105 and its close focussing, which I find really useful and extremely accurate with autofocussing as well ....

Pentax K7, D FA28-105mm, ISO 400, F6.7, 1/25th sec ......(handheld with SR active)















I just had a look at them again, and I wonder if they're more pink than purple!! Too late to change the title ah well, purple / pink, whats the difference

Compositionally I think the 2nd is the best of the three. The flowers yellow stamen is on the third and the leaves bottom left and top right form a diagonal through the image. Nice

Pleasant images of the flowers, Nigel. I presume that you have presented their petal colour as it appeared to you at the time, in which case they look pink to me.....but it really doesn't matter - I like to see flowers in their natural surroundings.

Thanks Don, Gareth and Philip. No 2 it is then! I included the others because I liked the way bits of the green foliage around the flower pop into sharp focus....

I have to say that some of the stuff I get out of this D FA28-105 (supposed FF 'kit' lens) really doesnt look like it came from a zoom lens at all!
