28mm shift

I've got one too, so I guess that makes me the other forum member with one.

I have one of those screens for my LX which I fitted. I may change back for normal use, however, as I find it difficult to focus quickly. Not an issue if I get a shift, however. I had a nice unilock tripod until one of my team drove the landrover over it...

Four shift lenses sold on ebay in the earlier part of the year for between 215 and 300 quid. I noticed those two on ebay too. I am not in a rush...

It appears that old Pentax lenses are rocketing in value, this is without a doubt linked to the world financial crisis - I wish!

it really does seem that Pentax glass is increasing in value. I was talking today to a pal who has a VERY SERIOUS Leica and Rollieflex collection (Shock, horror, he uses them too) and he was bemoaning their drop in value compared with Pentax lenses. I'm not sure waht that tells us other than, at last, folk are realising just how brilliant our lenses are.

I have to say that I'm much more interested in photography than cameras or lenses

really? what do you guys figure an old tak-a 70-200 would be worth?

I have a few Taks and super Taks I have picked up here and there.
Super Tak 135mm f3.5 original hood and case
Super Tak 55mm 1.8 original hood
Tak 50mm f1.8
Tak 200mm f5.6
Tak 50mm f1.4 original case.
Whats the difference between a Tak and a Super Tak :

Next to nothing. Its the M42 Taks that are very wanted. All primes of course.

Clarky, Takumars are the earliest lenses from the Asahi Optical Co. and come in 37mm and 42mm screw mount, the Auto Takumars are 42mm and pre-set diaphragm, Super Takumars have the auto/manual stop down switch and basic coating, SMC Takumars have super multi coating making them the most desirable (I've got a 28, 35, 55, 135 and a 200). When the bayonet mount came out the name was changed to SMC Pentax but the Takumar name was re-used for some budget bayonet mount lenses of dubious quality. On a digital body I think the SMC Takumars are easier to use than the K and M series lenses.

I think the 67 lenses are all called Takumars

Thanks Ken. I would have thought the Super Taks were the better of the 2. Shows you what I know.

I have never used any of the M42s other than on an old bellows I have.

BTW Ken I notice you have a 35mm f3.5, If you need an original case for it I have one and its your if you want it. Or anyone else for that matter.

That is what I thought, but it does get a little confusing, when companies revive a good name to sell bargian basement stuff......

I am tempted by a Lensbaby, but if money were no object (and I could find one) I'd still much rather have the Hartblei Super-Rotator over and above any of the other lenses we've mentioned thus far...

At last here is a picture taken with the 28mm Shift, not the most obvious use of a shift lens but there are a few degrees of shift in this picture.
