Last time I promise, tomorrow there is a freefall parachute drop onto the beach at 9am so going to pop down there instead.

1st shot - Pentax-M 50mm F4 Macro
2nd shot - Vivitar 100mm F2/8 Macro

I love the 2nd shot but the wing being clipped at the bottom is slightly annoying. Quite a vibrant yellow which can be hard on digital. I always find detail is hard to get on yellow subjects because they are so bright!

I used that shot as I felt it was slightly sharper than these but at least the wing isn't clipped in them

What is wrong with the 1st of the 2ns set? At least at that resolution the detail looks almost the same. The 1st picture you posted is a little warmer and has a lower exposure so that may help.
