A colleague has been using a 1st DL for years and has alway used Lithium AAs. Recently after loading these, the message is "no battery" He can used "normal" AAs and re-chargeable ones but the power from these is very limited. Would there be any reason for this camera now not accepting lithium ones?

Is there a battery selector setting in the menus? Could it have been changed?
Best regards, John

My iST DL can behave oddly with the batteries.
Try cleaning the battery contacts and see if that helps.
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

I don't think there is a battery selector with this camera John. I will mention cleaning the contacts Father Ted.
Many thanks for the responses.

Is it the same brand of Lithium and same model?

Some Lithiums have been reformulated and the voltages dropped by just a small amount but multiply it by four and it could mean that it is below minimum.

A set of Eneloops should get it back to normal.

I sought an answer to that a short time ago.(My "Troubleshooter" post 29/10.) My daughter's *istDL2 had run for years on AAs quite happily and suddenly stopped showing any response. Thanks to some of the help on here she is now using NiMH rechargeables and all is right with the world again.
