100mm macro aperture iris

I have a DFA 100mm f2.8 WR Macro lens which I purchased new. I have just noticed that the iris is not snapping closed as it should.
Even on my oldest Pentax lenses the irises close down with an audible click.
The macro lens aperture closes quite quickly but is definitely slightly sluggish and is completely silent.

I admit I do not use it very often as I generally prefer the Sigma 105 - but then I could say that of many of my 'Legacy' lenses.

Of course the guarantee has just expired.

Has anyone experienced this and perhaps found a simple cure? My 'buying expensive lens days' are, sadly, in the past.

Are your photos correctly exposed?

That is something I must check asap Ken, as I have now noticed that the iris does not always close down to exactly the same size aperture!
Obviously there is some 'stiction' present.
Logic would suggest damp on the blades although I do take very great care of my lenses and their storage.
