Had a couple of people ask me about this, this is the lens I took my recent bluebell shots with.

I was wondering about the 'stuck at f1.4' bit. I see the aperture is a bit 'ragged'...

Is that corrosion on the blades?

Yes, lovely orange rust

I went with BW for the photo because the glass is also quite yellow, and I took it last night in my living room which is lit by a lamp with a yellow shade, all of which combined to make the glass look bright orange and made the blades very hard to see.

The blades are out of step. The one on the left should be laying over the two pointing down and, moving counter-clockwise, there's one that's not popping up at all.

Re-setting them is simple enough in theory but incredibly frustrating in practice - you need at least three hands with a minimum of six fingers on each (or so it's seemed on the couple of occassions I've had a go). The most vital tools are a bottle of scotch, a wall to bang your head against and sound-proofing to avoid upsetting the neighbours during your 10 hour scream-and-swearathon...
