I think this information is wrong.
The hyperfocal distance depends on how you define the circle of confusion and is very subjective. I very much doubt that Pentax would integrate such a thing and have never heard it before.

On this forum there are a few older threads which claim that the Pentax DSLR's normally try to focus at the hyperfocal distance. Is this really the case?
