I'm selling my DFA100, but I wouldn't post it to Ireland for a much better price than that display model. I'd snap it up, it's a good deal.

I'd snap it up if I were you as well. Unfortunately they hold their price and Second hand ones go for that sort of money.

Well especially if it's a WR version I think you should rush down and buy it. After all it's a £479 lens!

Bite their hand off Pa. You can sell that lens for a tidy profit. 250 euros is the steal of the century. For reference I just sold one for 370 GBP on ebay...
You could sell it and buy a second hand regular DFA model, or a Tamron 90mm etc, and be over 100 euros up. OTOH it's a beautifully made bit of kit.

will buy today.
Hopefully I'll still enjoy the lens in 2 weeks and that the macro world isn't just a novelty to try out and find that it doens't hold me. I think I'll enjoy it though.
And it should be good for shooting my kids too.
Will update gallery with some images once I start using it.

It's good for other subjects too, I'm sure you'll find a use for it.

I love this lens as a general portrait lens as well as a macro lens. Even if it's not the WR version it's still an excellent deal for it. Get it and have fun

Just bought it and it wans't the dispaly model! They had a few in stock. It's not the WR model but I don't mind.
I think it's the first 1st hand lens I've bought out of 8 lenses!

1 quick question- can the lens hood be used to aid macro shooting? It seems very long, almost like a tube.

I've several threads about wanting a macro lens, looking at different options (close up filters etc) but now I have €250 hard cash.
Local Currys have display model Pentax 100mm f2.8 lens for €249, seems
like a v good price. Is kept in a glass case so condition should be near perfect. For that money is there a better macro lens (2nd hand is fine)?
I've no specific use planned for it- just shoot anything that I think might look nice (toothbrush head, pencils, patterns in closed book/paper, flowers, eye etc. And I've two small kids so it'll be good for nice portraits, shooting them outdoors (my sigma 70-200 f2.8 is a bit big for casual shooting).
I'll also post a wtb ad but for €250 would have to include postage to Ireland.
Thanks in advance,
Pa
