Before you say they SDM is dead, have you tried "waking up" the SDM by connecting it to the camera and manually moving the focus ring back and forth?

Before you say they SDM is dead, have you tried "waking up" the SDM by connecting it to the camera and manually moving the focus ring back and forth? A better way to try and wake it up is by operating the screwdrive mech. ;)
