Weekly competition #506 - Spring Competition

Thank you all for entering this competition and I apologise in advance for the brevity of the comments. As we know photography is very subjective and what I have done is choose the images which pleased me most.

Daffs by perspicador.
It wouldn't be Spring without Daffodils and a choice of three blooms is an ideal number. Quite well arranged and the background nicely subdued.

Spring Day by mudge. Certainly looks like the sort of Spring weather we want, with the road bordered by daffodils.
Waiting for the next bite by crookie. Not sure if this relates to Spring, is that the start of the season for catfish?

Kimberly Plateau, W.A by i-Berg. This certainly looks a very colourful place and can't help wondering what a wider view would have looked like.

First Crocus of Spring by johnriley. Crocus, a sure sign of Spring. Love the colour of the blooms and what look like Tulip leaves in the background. A little clutter that could have been tidied up a bit.

White Snakes Head Fritillary by JAK. At first glance I thought these were Snowdrops. They look a very delicate bloom anyway. I just wonder if you could have moved the point of view and had the plant in front of the out of focus background and missed off the heavy growth at top left.

Spring Time by Nigelk. I can see what you are trying to do. Clocks and Tulips equals Spring Time, but to me sometimes less is more. That highlight at left doesn't help.

Faded Glory by wozfromcov. Back lit bloom certainly looking past its sell-by date. Pointing more to the end of spring than the beginning.

Fusari and daffodils by newbiek50user. Some blooming plants and what looks like a tulip head. Not sharp and the amount of green overpowers the flowers.

New Shoot by GlynM. New growth, a sure sign of Spring. Lots of detail and sharp. Not sure if it needed the "old" plant on the right.

Tulips by go4IT. Certainly bright but does it say Spring as there is no background to show if these are in the ground or a vase.

Blackthorn by davidwozhere. Another close up of blooms with a couple of buds. They are well taken but to me don't say Spring. Unfortunately a previous image had been entered then deleted.

Viral fresh by laupd. Dandelion, the curse of gardeners. I like the sentiments behind this shot. Muted background and "dirty" looking flower as would be expected at the roadside.

The Tulip..... tree! by drofmit. A good rendition of this tree. Sharp where it needs to be with the colours handled very well.

Magnolias by paulb531. Another nice Spring scene showing the Magnolia tree in bloom. Also the buildings give a litte extra interest.

spring as sprung bystu62. The buds on the tree just starting to open. Always a sign of Spring.

A bird in the bush by mikeprotts. It is what it is but doesn't really say Spring.

Butterfly by plunkstar.A nice bright butterfly. Think it could be improved by raising the p.o.v. to get more detail and some cropping of the slightly out of focus blooms on the right.

Spring blossoms by Noelcmn. Certainly a host of blossom but nothing to hold the interest.

The Spring Painter by Mag07 I did like the idea behind this shot and find myself wishing there had been more bluebells.

Emerging Crocuses by snakey. A lovely bright image with the crocus fading out giving the impression they go on forever.

Yebo yes, a worthy winner, wish I could be there! Congratulations Mudge. And extended to Perspicador and Snakey in 2nd spot and GlynM and I-berg for 3rd spots. And not forgetting the HM's Johnriley and Dromfit. Another wonderful challenge, loads of feel good shots here, as Autumn takes its grip south of the Equator. Thanks Tyronet2000 for the challenge and judging exercise, as always appreciated.

Great winning picture.... very difficult to top that host of golden daffodils.
