Thanks Fran. There's a small technical bit that you missed so we'll sort that out and I'll post a new competition later on today.
Best regards, John

Do please stick to English, as the meaning may not be clear otherwise. After researching translations online, I'm still unsure what point you are making.

As if one cannot use "other expressions in another language"!!
It a pity that we have not had any adjudication!! Translations for Axel
There, now it is in plain English!! and I second that..

Fascinating, one word translates into a whole sentence...there are some foreign phrases in common usage, but hmmm - schade is not one that I've heard before.
C'est la vie.

it means - what a pitty -ö I was really hoping for some feedback and I was also hoping that Frankie goes for it to make the great experience to describe pictures from others.... - it didn't mean anything bad at all

The comments will follow from Fran on her return in a short while, as mentioned above. It won't be too long now.

What a pedant you truly are, John. Using the occasional foreign expression enriches our language. The meaning of schade is obvious, in this context.

Here are my belated comments:
Arghh!!! Its raining – Jim-w
I love the expression of fear in this shot. It certainly looks like the lady is making a serious attempt to get away from something, but not too serious since she didn’t leave her flipflops behind. I’d guess the photographer found it quite funny… but I’m wondering what lurks behind the tree on the ladies’ right.
JudithAnn – Let It Be Me!
This picture caught my imagination straight away, primarily because my daughter got married not long ago and I too watched what starts out as a bit of fun, suddenly seem like a matter of life or death to the participants. Aunt Bee’s expression and body language depict that perfectly.
Trapped – John Riley
I put this shot in 1st place because it had the most immediate impact when I first looked at all the images after the competition had closed. I like the composition and the atmosphere. I can’t quite decide if the bit on the left edge is a distraction or adds to the reality. It didn’t detract from the initial impact though.
Too Friendly – bforbes
Another delightful expression. I can almost hear the lady saying “Urgh – It touched me”. The donkeys are lovely. (This shot has made me take a second look and perhaps be tempted by the Pentax Q.)
Cold Beds – AxelLuther
Thanks for swelling the small number of entries Axel. It is a very eerie shot but there’s no exif data. Perhaps this entry was intended as a lessen for me in how not to panic, but I am wondering what you did with the bodies. PS: I speak some German so no language problems here; I just had some location, time and technical difficulties with equipment which caused this delay.
What Have I done – AndrewA
An interesting entry which did attract my initial attention. It is a well considered and technically well executed image, but the tight crop, coupled with unsmudged mascara doesn’t convey panic with quite enough conviction, more one of thoughtful contemplation.
Eddie who? – Sean282
The subject in the photograph looks really relaxed and in complete control (not that I know anything much about skiing). I do like the juxtaposition of the theme, showing what happens when the photographer panics. I think I’d have felt exactly the same had it been my son.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter and sorry I took so long to comment. I promise that if I ever win again I’ll do better. I hope I haven’t upset anyone with my commenting. My own photography isn’t good enough yet to justify anyone getting upset on a technical level by my comments.
