Description
Everyone has a photo of a daffodil/ crocus/ snowdrop/ tulip/ blossom - and if you don't, why not go out and take a few using your Pentax SLR, DSLR, compact or accepted clone? The reward? Racking your brains to set next week's challenge - you don't even have to judge it; just ask the team, who will do it for you.

We have a gallery of the unusual this week -

in particular, Kasperbergholt's 'Avalons', Smudge's super crisp fisheye of a magnificent tree (but it was supposed to be about flowers!) and a totally DIY analogue black and white job from RayW. There is plenty of talent and ability on display.

I also like the slightly underexposed daffodil trying to look like a conventional daffodil on steroids - Sorry Simon. Gibis reminds us that 'spring flowers' are not necessarily sprung from Dutch bulbs and that they can take other forms (with the most super bokeh too - pity the lens isn't listed). And finally, we have a lovely abstract ICM from Nigel (he's good at those).

Which leaves us with ……
The one that says, "Here is Spring, sprung up before you in a flower."
Well done with your primrose Stephen. You are the winner!

If you have 10 minutes to spare Kasper, can you please talk us through that floral delight you prepared? Had it declared, "Spring", instead of "beauty", it would have been a serious contender!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Thank you for the first spot David, and congratulations to the other entrants for an interesting and varied collection - just goes to show how we all see things differently. Like you I am intrigued / entranced by Kasper's entry.

Thank you for the kind words - and the question about how it was made.

It's a rather straightforward double exposure combining two individual photos.

Before 'merging' them, the coloring was adjusted separately for each one.

And a big congratulations to Stephen on winning first place!
