Weekly #594 - It's beginning to look like Christmas! Competition

Competition Details
Closing Date: 09/12/2018
Judge: tyronet2000

As this is December and people are preparing for the festivities (although some jumped the gun a lot earlier) I think this is a fitting theme for this weeks competition. As images could have been taken anytime I don't see many restrictions in obtaining an image. I will leave to your imagination what is required.

Images must have been taken with Pentax or Pentax clones. Good Luck

Weekly #594
Thank you all for taking part in this competition. The remarks here are just my opinion and I hope you agree with my coices.

Turning on the lights by Perspicador
First entry which seems to be normal for Perspicador and this is bang on topic as I believe most people enjoy the lights and the shops all lit up espcailly in these early dark nights in the UK

Santas on the March by JAK
This image was perhaps taken through a shop window or a display case. On topic because of the subject even though it seems Christmas is starting ealier

Lets Twist Again by Nigelk
A very impressive building decorated for Christmas. It looks like a lot of work was involved in this and must look fabulous when seeing it "in the flesh" so to speak.

Christmas Elf by johnriley
It wouldn't be Christmas without various enterainers collecting. A better sign showing where the donations were going would have added more interest

Dreaming of Christmas by JudithAnn
I liked the colours and processing of this image but I think it needed something more. I think the words Merry Christmas somewhere on the image It would make a lovely Christmas Card

Wayfarers Arcade Southport by noelm
Like these big bold decorations and the tree. I can see some shoppers in the image but perhaps a bit more hustle and bustle would have enhanced the over all picture I

Ho... Ho... Bloody HO!! by drofmit
While the image is full of Christmas nickknacks after reading you comments I couldn't help but think "Bah Humbug". Nevertheless it made me smile as Christmas seems to start earlier each year.

Room for one more...(Barely) by Abe_Normal
All the elements in place for Christmas, church, enormouse tree and people. I can imagine the crush trying to get through the crowd.

The hidden Bauble by Noelcmn
This one made me smile thinking of the times when repacking the decorations and finding something I'd been looking for.

John Lewis store Christmas display by newbiek50user
A nice column of light but often seen outside of a Christmas display so perhaps something more Christmassy would have been better.

1st Turning on the lights by Perspicador

2nd Santas on the March by JAK

3rd Room for one more... (Barely) by Abe_Normal

Well done Perspicador - always (nearly always) first of the mark, and now this time first past the post as well.

Thanks to our Judge as well, a prompt assessment and hopefully we're now back on track with our competition schedule!
Best regards, John

Thanks for the prompt judging Stan and thanks for the second spot. Well done to Perspicador; patience rewarded. Also to Abe_Normal and indeed all.
I was off shopping just after you posted the competition so took the camera just in case. Spotted those Santas on a shelf in a large supermarket and took several shots of them. Guess others there were wondering what I was up to.
Wishing you all the best for this festive season too.
John K

Congrats, too... for the runners up...
difficult choices for Stan this week... we may be few, but the pictures are good.
Thanks, Stan, for the competition and judging ....
and yes... it was meant to be a Bah-Humbug post!! Glad you spotted it!!
This display had been there all the way through November...

Just so long as you don't do what I did - left it a week before posting the results ! Congratulations on your 1st place - it's a super picture.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
