| Description | |
Japanese origin: ボケ (boke) — "blur," "fuzziness" The English spelling "bokeh" was popularized in the late 1990s, especially through photography publications. The added "h" at the end was included to help English speakers pronounce it correctly - like “boh-keh,” not “bohk” or “boke”, said Chat-GPT. "Bokeh" is the theme for May's competition, and any photo that fits the theme however you interpret it is welcome, as long as it was taken in May 2025 with a Pentax camera (or an acceptable clone). I'll pick first, second & third places along with a short comment. |

Congratulations Sue. Yes, it's about the bokeh but you also got a mass of pure joy in there too. And, of course, I just have to love the Aloe spike with those super bokeh balls!

Love the energy & enthusiasm. Also stood out among the flowers.
2nd - Aloe in Bloom
Nice colours & love the distinct bokeh dots in the background.
3rd - Grass Pollen
Very nice background, almost an impressionistic artwork in itself.
