Hi again
Many thanks for your response. Yes we have tried inserting a new and different brand of film, also changed the battery just in case. I just wondered if the Espio had had a history of unreliability/high failure rate and that ours was not the only one which had 'died'. I cannot recall the exact price we paid but I think it was in the region of £195 or therabouts. The camera is only 2 yrs old and I am guessing that the garuntee period expired at least 12 months ago. I would not have minded so much if the thing had had 500+films thru' it or that it had been subjected to rough service but 3-4 films in 2 yrs is hardly heavy use! I see that the model has been discontinued and am wondering if it is actually worth getting it repaired at all if there is a potential inherent design fault. I suspect this because both cameras failed
in exactly the same manner. The 'LE' code apparently denotes 'load error,' or so the kind man at Dixsons told us??

Think we might go for a Canon Sureshot instead!

Hi,
Anyone out there had probs with Pentax Model Espio125M?

We bought one of these models as an Xmas present for my wife's parents and within 2 months (& only 3 films) the thing packed up altogether. The only clue was ' LE' followed by the number 11 which flashed up on the LCD.

We duly exchanged the camera for another (same model) and this. after only 2yrs has gone u/s with the same fault error code.
Is it worth getting the thing repaired?
If not, then have we (and Pentax) reached the stage where an 35mm compact can only be expected to last for the use of approximaterly 10 36 exposure films before we have to bin it and buy another?
