Yeah, I guess that was me who started that thread craziness. I didn't know Mike-P was still selling his, then ems82 comes out of left field with a 3rd Smile and nod.

Hrm, this is just silly, I've now put this on eBay as there are now 3 back-to-back listings of the 135mm f3.5.

If anyone from the forum wants, let me know and I can cancel my auction.

Hrm, I thought Mike had sold his lens. Guess not. Since he's got caps on, I can't expect to get 40, so ...

35GBP, including P&P.

Well, I've got a DA* 50-135mm f2.8, so I've got less use for my 135mm f3.5 SMC-M lens.

About the lens then.

Mechanical: Perfect. Smooth focusing, aperture ring clicks on every stop. The shutter is snappy and there is no oil on the blades. The pull-out lens hood works great.

Cosmetically: Excellent-. No dings, scratches or dents on the lens. Lettering in great shape, and a QC sticker is on there. Looks like it's had little use - there are a few scuff marks on the black mounting region on the back, as well as a very slight colour change on some of the metal - but to be expected with a lens this old. See picture 2 @ 12 o-clock. Could probably be buffed / polished out if you were really picky. Also there are a few points where the paint is a bit thin and is showing the metal rather than black. This can be seen on the aperture ring on the last picture - hardly noticeable when not doing macro shots.

Optically: Excellent. When held up to a light, there are two small black specs which can be seen. I thought there was only one, but on looking again there is an even smaller 2nd one. They're small enough that I'm not able to get a good photograph, but I assure you they are there. There is also appears to be some dust on the back element which can be seen when you look through the lens against a light. A can of compressed air *should* get rid of that. While there is some exterior dust, I'm not able to make out much (any?) interior dust. I'd have to assume that there is some though as it is an older lens.

Finally, there is no front/back cap included unfortunately. When I got it there was none included. I'm sure the individual felt it was the best way to make some cash (sell each separately).

Looking for 40GBP + shipping (1st, 2nd, or priority but you're paying so it's your choice), or nearest offer for the lens. Pictures of the lens are below and I just ran out to grab a shot of some flowers before it started raining to show the optical quality right now.

And shot with the lens just now so you know the optical condition you're getting it in. Converted from RAW using Lightroom 3 beta 2 - no other PP done.

and a 100% crop of the flower in the bottom right. This is without adding a sharpening onto the image.

And giving "sharpen for screen" as the export option for LR gives:

She is a sharp, lovely lens, and if I wasn't about to buy yet another lens I'd probably keep her around on the shelf for a while longer. The IQ on this lens is as good as it gets for the 135mm SMC-M lens. However, alas, LBA strikes.

Well it's not in the UK They want 400GBP (equivalent) for the DA 12-24mm which is a good price, but it still is a lot of cash for something which has marks on the glass.

They've got a steal of a deal on the DA* 50-135mm as well @ £549.99 for a new one! Wow!

There appear to be a few very light marks on the glass. I'm wondering if it still makes sense to pull the trigger. Thoughts?

Despite Mannesty's scuttling of my previous sale, the adapter is now sold, though for less than my newest asking price.

T2 adapter still available, but will be putting it on ebay for a 0.99p auction on the weekend - if anyone needs it just send me a pm.
