Oh no it just shows that Pentax has the best sensor and the Lens can't keep up
I'd go with that - except they are saying bang-for-buck as 4.5... the next closest Pentax offering is the 12-24mm, so I'd give this a 6 out of 5 stars for bang for buck!

My name is Whelmed, and I too have an addiction.

It's been 24 hours since my last lens purchase
12 hours since my last photograph

... For what it's worth, I'm happy you passed on the 10-20mm as I got it in the end

I really like the set, but find the bokeh on #1 a bit distracting. I might have shot with a slightly higher aperture to get the tails in focus as it falls in one of the 1/3 focal points, but I may be alone on that thought.

I tend to focus with the camera, normally having the lens out fully at 1:1 (or wherever)and then just move the body back and forward.
I do that as well, but using AF-S focus trap. I.e. hold the shutter down let the camera snap the second I'm in focus. The DOF is just so tiny that I find this method helps a lot.

Sigma 10-20mm on Pentax gets 3/4.5/4.5 stars
Sigma 10-20mm on Nikon on the other hand gets 3.5/4.5/5 stars
Sigma 10-20mm on Canon is the middle with 3/4.5/5 stars

That's all the 4/5.6 version rather than the 3.5 model. Don't get me wrong, I love the photozone review process. The thing that annoys me is that anything on Pentax is always rated less than it is on Nikon, and often less than it is on Canon. I take everything with a grain of salt though, so when comparing Pentax to Pentax I can see which are the better lenses available.

There's no calibration for AF on the K10D, which I believe is the camera in question.
There is in Debug mode - but I'm not sure if that affects MF lenses as well as AF ones.

There was a 10-20mm Sigma on sale in the Marketplace, but I snapped it up I think it's a great landscape lens, but I've not used it yet so I'll report back when I have.

Hrm, well I suppose another reason I'm feeling like a bad Pentaxian is that I'm real close to trading in my last Pentax lens for another sigma.

Based on used prices, my DA* is worth a 70-200mm f2.8 + 1.4x TC. Wonder if anyone would do a straight up trade for that... hrmmm...

Hrm 55GBP may be too much for this, esp for the forum. If I were to put it on eBay I would put it at that.

So how bout 45GBP, including P&P. Another shot from this lovely lens @f6.7.
