60-ish bus driver, that got his first camera about 50 years ago - then bought my first camera kit in my teens (very cheap, very used, quite bad), which after a while included some nowadays rare Pentax lenses, as the camera was a non-descript West German Edixa Reflex (M42 screw-mount). Long gone!

Then switched to two Minox 35s - the original compacts in many ways - and that led to Konica compacts (bigger, but battery assisted and equipped with zooms, and AF), which led to Konica Digital compacts.

Then, via various other digitals, I ended up with a K-x. I had by then had enough of dust inside compacts (gettting it deleted costed me as much as the cameras themselves). Equally irritaing were the compacts in low light. Never looked back again!

By now even my wife is a convert to Pentax DSLRs - her first was a K-5 (she used to have, ages ago, an MX), and we now have a handful of Pentax primes, a few Pentax zooms (including the excellent DA50-135), four Tamrons (10-24, 17-50, 90 & 70-200/2.8 - all loved - and two Sigmas (120-400, 150-500).

Like to photograph aircraft (big and small), birds and animals, people and landscapes, and closeups (insects and flowers). Slightly disabled since a Scottish nurse drove her car into me May 7, 1990 (near Glenfarg), while I was touring Scotland with my trusted SR 500. No more trekking, no more motorbikes! Sigh!
