Actually the bikers are a great bunch of blokes and lasses. I have never had any grief of them ever! I get waves from them and the odd smart arse giving it the v's but it's normally car drivers who are the worst! I have had people telling me it's illegal and all kinds of rubbish!

Good idea! We can teach people the error of their ways!

I also get plenty of lepper looks from Cannotafordon and Nikerson!! Bloody camera snobs!

Yes we have!

Hello you

I will be fun shooting with another Pentax user instead of always running into the Canon and Nikon (is using those names in here classed as swearing?) brigade!

Well considering I have been a member since last year... Funnily enough its a year since I joined!!!

I have been lurking in the back ground and only just started getting involved in the forums!

I have been involved in photography now for well over 20 years and got into it thru my father taking me airshows at a very early age. I started out using Practika's but when I was 20 I got an ME Super and have been a Pentax fan ever since. I then moved onto an MZ5 and the had a bit of hiatus for a good few years. My life kind of went into a bad period and then I sorted myself out and finally got a DSLR a few years back when my old man spotted an IST-DL body and got it for me! I have been using that ever since and will shortly be moving up to a K20D.

I tend to shoot more action based stuff and also enjoy messing and experimenting with the camera! I like dabbling in arty stuff to!

Here's me... The long haired snapper in the Peak District:

There I have finally introduced myself after spending a while in the shadows!

Cheers,
Ian

PS... I am also a big fan of metal music, hence the hair!

Only if they reasonably suspect your are doing something wrong or taking photographs in a security sensitive area without pernmission...

They cannot actually stop you taking photo's of them or incidents they are involved in, in public areas.

There are no actual laws that they can use to stop you with the exception of Section 44 of the terror act. I know I was stopped at Manchester airport on my way down to the viewing enclosure and all I did was get my camera out of my rucksack!

They can't actually do a great deal if we are in a public place...

I've actually got a photo of a Police car and bike!

I thought they where but I am struggling to get a good shot of a bird in flight!

Aircraft have a predictable flight path and they are also a lot further away so the panning is not as erratic or as fast, so that makes them easier to shoot. Like I said in a few earlier posts I usually don't go over 1/500 shutter speed when shooting fast jets. I also use a set point where the camera is focused on.

I am off to Wales in a few weeks and I will be getting into the hills with my new lens so hopefully will have some good shots!

I think my problem shooting birds is being to slow on the shutter speed. I am finding shooting birds requires faster panning because they are closer so maybe cracking upto 1/1000 shutter speed may yield better results! I am gonna go for a play in a bit and I will let you know!

That why use a large depth of field! That way you can know your field of focus and hand hold the flash and move it about to get different lighting effects!
