There has been a lot of debate about what is simply a colour cast in both of Davids pictures. I explained in the other thread how I very closely matched image 2 to image 1.
This was done by one click on the neutralize filter in Photoshop. Part of this filters job is to eliminate colour casts which it has clearly done here.
This time around I have attached a copy of Davids picture colour corrected and as you can see it is almost indistinguishable from Nigel's picture detail in the clouds being the exception.

The end result should be as the artist/photographer sees it as it is there own creation. The reference to Mozart is really irrelevant as we are talking about seeing.
The questions are "Does it look natural" and "Does it really matter" neither of which includes "what the camera saw".

In answer to both questions has to be no. The end result should be as you see it.
If on the other hand you want to see what the camera saw then it is best to apply the the neutralize filter in Photoshop which clears any colour casts that may be present. In your own picture it removes the purple and replaces it with a pinkish tinge.

Image 1 for me as it has the most subtle tones.

As a matter of interest I took a screen shot of image 2 and ran it through PS4 and came up with a photo very similar to image 1. The detail in the cloud's being the exception. That I think points to there being no difference in the software used.
