Hello All:

First time seller here so please forgive any inadvertent transgressions against forum rules/protocols.

As I am upgrading to a K5, I am looking to sell my Pentax K20D. The camera was bought in the US and so comes with an US outlet charger cable. I have used this charger in the UK using a UK->US adaptor with no problem at all. The camera was bought in 2008 and has 11465 actuations according to myshuttercount.com. The camera has always been stored/carried around in a camera bag and is therefore without any nicks or dings. While I probably have the other accessories lying around the house somewhere, I can only vouch for the camera body, carrying strap, manuals, and charger as part of the sale. How does 220 GBP sound? As the camera always has a lens on it, I have long since lost track of the k-mount cap for the body. Given that I will throw in the kit lens in to the deal for the same price. The camera will ship with kit lens mounted.

Also up for sale is my Voigtlander Ultron 40mm/2 SLii which I bought on this forum in 2010. This is a FABULOUS lens but has seen no real use from me as the manual focus does not work well for capturing my fast moving kids (my primary reason for owning a DSLR!). As a result, it is in the same condition as when I received it: as new. Note that the missing white in some of the lettering is how the lens came to the original owner brand new. I am only looking to recuperate my original purchase price: 185 GBP (this is tremendous value for this lens given what you get and the retail price). Just wanted to close out this topic: Sigma acknowledged that it sounded as though I had a faulty lens and asked me to send the lens in for an exchange. This I did and the replacement lens works flawlessly. No problems focusing whatsoever and I now have the zoom lens complement to my primes.

Also, just wanted to put in a plug for Clifton Cameras. I had originally ordered the lens from SRS, but when they reported the lens out-of-stock, I went with Clifton. They were quick and courteous in dealing with this problem.

isdky -- I have the stabilization on the K20D turned off and am only using the OS within the lens itself.

Pentaxanne: No, I did not have to turn-off/on the camera to get it to work again. Just focusing on another spot within the frame, or zooming out would (sometimes) result in the lens focusing.

Just some additional details: the focusing did not work consistently regardless of the environment (indoors/outdoors, dark/light environment etc.). Also I tried using center focus as well as auto-focus to no avail.

Hi -- I recently acquired a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 OS HSM to use with my K20D as a replacement to the kit zoom lens. I took the lens and camera to Hampton Court this weekend on a gorgeous, sunny day. The photos that I was able to take with the lens were beautiful and the lens lived up to its reputation for taking sharp pictures across the entire zoom range. However, I was driven to frustration by its inability to focus on subjects both near and far and regardless of the focal length. On at least 50% of the occasion I attempted to take a photo with the lens, it would hunt for a few seconds and then give up the ghost. Sometimes, I was able to establish the focus by zooming out and then zooming back in after focus had been established.

Has anyone else had this problem with the lens? And any solutions to the problem if so? I was not attempting to do anything "special" -- I had the camera in green mode most of the time. Is this a "known" problem (I could not find any reference to the problem via my internet searches) or do I just have a dud lens?
