Quick update, picked up a lens from the classifields for £45 - and this is the difference, quick hand held shot before I go to a wedding!

Can I have this @ £45 please - It will I presume fit on a pentax K-R body? with full features (please excuse my ignorance, I am new to this!)

Right ok, so I need a dedicated macro lens then - the raynox will not help at all? (if it will fritz, what you after for it!!)

I borrowed my dads Sony A200 with 70-300 lens on it and i couldnt get focus on the tank unless I was stood in the hall?

I only thought I needed macro from others advice on the fish forum e.g. this is done with a 90mm tamron:




And the closest I can get to that type of coral (Zoa) Is this picture:




I also really struggle to get focus at that range, any closer and it drops out.

Hi All,

Just took the plunge into the world of cameras and got myself an entry level K-R from a friend with the standard lens.

I am a big fan of Marine aquariums and want to mainly use it for photos of them - easy I thought - big mistake!!

Due to the intense blue shade lighting and the movement, it is very hard to get a good / acceptable picture - from 50 shots I may get 3 that could be considered OK! - I also found the standard lens not giving me the magnification levels I need so a dedicated macro lens is on the cards at some point, for now I will grab a Raynox-250 and see how that goes.

Anyway, may aswell post a picture of something as a "Hi" obviously nowhere near what I am sure you can all achieve - but again, I have never held a camera that wasn't built into a phone until a few weeks ago - have done so much reading on the shutter speed and aperture!.

I will take this - can you PM me payment details please - looking forward to getting closer to the polyps in my marine tanks!
