Unless I've missed something, I can't see how the K-30 bests the K-5? I agree that it seems an improvement over the KR, but not the K-5.

Umm, lack of responses ( but thanks Pentaxophile)I guess I'm being over hopeful on people having experience of these specific lenses?
I do think ultra wide is something I will enjoy using, so how about I ask which ulta wide would you get- do any others justify spending more than the £329 from SRS for the Sigma 10-20?

Just to make you aware, the DA 55-300 just became a lot more affordable:

Thanks for pointing that one out!!

I use lightroom 3 and love it - I like to keep tweaking to a minimum anyway

Comment by PentaxP50 posted on Any advice on Pentax 18-135mm -v- Sigma 18-125mm at 17/11/2011 - 15:44
With the price dropping and now the £90 off promotion on the K-5, I've decided to take the plunge and buy. However, I'm torn between going for the 18-135 kit or just getting the body and the Sigma 18-125 which is about £100 cheaper than the Pentax lens.
I was going to go for the 18-50/55-200 kit but I'm thinking the 18-135 (or equivalent) now, followed by the 55-300 later on might be a better bet.
Does anyone have any experience of these lenses or another suggestion?
Thanks!

Just joined, having been loitering here researching all I can about the K-5 which seems like a pretty cool camera. I must admit to also being tempted by (whisper them) the Canon 60D or Nikon D7000, but I think I'm coming down in favour of the K-5. I own a Pentax P50 from many years back which I still use, but I think it's high time to go digital!
