If the guys knew just how close the end of the runway is to the beach they would know how you did it! More important is the fact that you were brave enough to do it!
More mundane shots taken at St. Maarten can be seen at airliners.net but they'll impress too.

If you let your imagination run wild you can see faces in the nearest trunk, and that's before I have a glass of wine!!
A little more contrast might not go amiss.

Emre, there's something very special about this shot and I guess it is, as Guilio has said, "the contrast between foreground and background". There is clearly quite a distance between the two and that has been very well captured by you. Well done!
Are you giving your uncle photography lessons yet? It won't be long, I'm sure.
