I recently had to consider a new tripod due to my son borrowing and somehow losing the 055 i had cherished for many years.
Saw a positive article on Benro, and not willing to part with the cash for a Gitzo for all the use i make of a tripod, i bit the bullet and bought the A-227.
First impressions are excellent, fine finish, seems very sturdy and the legs operate smoothly and lock positively.
Hope i dont regret this and of course i cant comment on quality control or longevity.
Now i need to consider a head, been trying it out with a velbon, and am tempted by the KB-1 but not sure.

I hate decisions.....

No, the MX has been with me for about 25 years and still working like new and i expect it will outlast these modern wonders.
The problem it appears is with the user not the camera

GlynM thats it! I had been trying out a + 0.5 exposure compensation. Just turned it off and auto iso now working.

Thanks a lot,
Dav.

Very fast replies on this forum ! Thanks.

Matt, i did a reset before flashing the firmware, as you do with the pc, and have tried it again, no joy.

Thanks for responding so fast. Yes, i have it set to Auto 200-800 and it definately worked fine before the upgrade. Its not a big deal really, being used to mx.

Try as i might i cannot find a download of the 1.0 firmware tho.

After updating DL2 firmware to v1.01 i find that auto iso no longer works in that it will not rise above 200.
Can anyone direct me to the original firmware ?

Thanks for your responce Matt. Pentax have replied just to say send the camera. I think i will hold off for a mo cos the 2 clusters of hot pixels have 'dimmed' somewhat and cant be seen on 99% of pics.

Coming from an mx, i just love the digital and hve been using it with a 10-17, an old A series 50/1.7 and M series 200

I recently bought a DL2 at the nice Jessops price and have just noticed 2 hot or stuck pixels just off-centre of the frame. On looking thro the photos they seem to have been there from about the 34th frame.

Is this a common problem?

I have asked both Pentax and Jessops if i can get a repair under the warranty but neither have replied as yet.
