I keep looking at this lens, as it's similar in weight and range to the Olympus 50-200 which I used for many years before switching to Pentax last summer.

But .... I have the superb 50-135 and the DA 200, and that's quite an overlap. Plus, the quality of the 200 is such that quite large crops are easily obtainable - with amazing clarity and resolution.

Is there a case for a 60-250....? Hmmm. Can't decide.

Maybe just buy one adapter and make your lenses share...
That's what can be done on an Olympus 4/3 mount, but since the adapters are very slender and cost only about $20 I had an adapter on each lens.

The fitting of a Leitax adapter is an altogether different matter as shown on the Leitax site. http://www.leitax.com/

I have three Leica R lenses that have previously seen good regular use on both 4/3 and µ4/3 formats - these are the 35,50, and 90 Summicrons.

These are wonderful lenses with typical Leica characteristics, but how close are they to the FA Ltds of the 31, 43, and 77 ...? I could go down the route of fitting an adapter to each, but at about £60 a throw its not a cheap option for MF lenses, despite their astonishing quality - the 35 f2 "R" especially so.

I have the 43Ltd, and with its superb IQ is getting regular outings, often accompanied by the DA 15. It seems that a more practical solution might be had by selling the Leicas, and getting the 31Ltd, plus perhaps the DA 70 or the 77Ltd. Great as zooms are (I use the 16-50 & 50-135), I find that primes can often place you in a very different mind set ... a different way of viewing that often brings more powerful images for much of the subject matter I look for.

Anyone had experience of the adapted R lenses?

Regards
Rich S

I was out with my 50-135 yesterday in a timber felling yard, and never ceased to be amazed at the flexibility and sheer class of this lens!
A bargain for someone at under £450!

DA*55 1.4 - Designed for portrait on the Aps-c sensor... I'd love one!!
What would you have to pay for one of these? £400 .. or more?!
84mm equiv FL ideal for portraits, and with f1.4 has to be perfect.
