I’m selling a Pentax K-5II on behalf of a friend. I too have a K-5II so I know how good these cameras are! Camera body only, no lenses included in this sale.
The camera is in excellent condition and includes all accessories (e.g. neck strap, cables, caps, charger, etc.) in the original box. The shutter count will be high but the camera really is in excellent condition. Please note that the manual is in Japanese (not sure why) but, as you know, you can download an English version from the Pentax website. I’ve updated the camera to the latest firmware.
She would like to get approx £425 (with free postage) but sensible offers accepted. I’ll post to UK addresses only (Royal Mail tracked) upon payment via PayPal or bank transfer.
Many thanks,
Matt

It looks rather secondhand on the outside (tatty corners) but in otherwise good condition.
I'm not expecting any takers so it will probably go to charity.
Cheers,
Matt

I’d like to experiment with a teleconverter/rear converter for my K20D but I’m getting increasingly confused as to what I should buy.
I’ve read lots of forum posts and guides/reviews but I guess my main problem is a lack of understanding regarding lens mounts and a lack of understanding when reading technical information about lens.
For example, I’m rather confident the Pentax 2X-S would be fine on my K20D but what about a Teleplus Pz-AF 2X MC7. The Teleplus apparently has “a Pentax mount” but that could mean anything (K or M42?).
Also, there a lots of very cheap teleconverter on eBay which seem unbranded , e.g. “Pentax K teleconverter”.
Some of these cheap teleconverters also that claim to include autofocus, but I thought AF was unavailable in teleconverters (unless you spend a lot of money on something special).
So, as you can see, I’d like to buy a teleconverter but I’m confused as to where to start looking and what to believe.
Could anyone recommend a teleconverter for a novice photographer?
Many thanks,
M.

Although I’ve been a DSLR user for a couple of years, I’m a complete noob when it comes to hot-shoe and wireless flash photography; I’m so without a clue I am thinking of attending a flash photography class.
I do have the simply amazing Cateye LETS for pop-up flashes, designed and engineered by Bristol University student Eric Eckstein. It does a great job (example photo).
The next logical step seemed be to buy a ‘proper’ flash and so, after a bit of research, I have purchased a Metz 50.
Unfortunately my initial impressions of the Metz 50 are disappointing…
- Photos are underexposed. I have to manually override the EV all the time which seems crazy!
- ISO defaults to high and grainy. Manually lowering the ISO looks much better, so why the high default ISO?
- In wireless SL mode, results are a bit random. Sometimes the Metz 50 fires too early for the camera to capture it. Also, I assume wireless mode requires the pop-up flash (i.e. there’s no infrared trigger from my K20D?) I note there’s an option on the K20D to turn off the pop-up flash from being included in the photo.
On top of the above, I find the menu system very fiddly, e.g. the two finger button press is just bazaar!
Can anyone help? I am already thinking of selling the Metz 50 and purchasing a more basic flash that will allow me to get to grips with the basics first.
Many thanks,
M.
