Although now out of warranty this lens is in mint condition. It is boxed, complete with hood and caps. The plm motor certainly improves the speed of autofocus on these lenses, and coupled with the excellent performance makes it a bargain at this price. £270 delivered RMSD. Bank transfer or PayPal gift. I will post images in due course.

This lens was bought for me as a gift by my son (who lives in the United States) in November 2021, and collected by me in December. Unfortunately this is surplus to my requirements and he is happy for me to sell it. I shot about 20 or so images with it when I was in the US, and it is an excellent copy. So, virtually new and unused, unmarked, boxed with all caps etc.etc. I haven't taken any photographs of the lens as I assume you know what a new HD 20-40mm looks like! (But will do so if required). I've priced it to show a substantial saving on what is, in effect, a new lens. £495 delivered - bank transfer or Paypal gift.
Amazing AF

Phographing a smallish white bird on a blue sky going from left to right could almost be done with a decent camera phone, certainly a decent compact ... that is not taxing on any camera produced in the last 15 years or so. If it's correct that AF works much better with PLM lenses then Pentax need to bring out a new version of the 150-450mm asap.Absolutely, I used the K3iii with the 150-450mm - but it's cost me well over £3000 to find that out! Not happy.

I will be shortly selling my new K3iii - I have given up on the autofocus front. The number of sharp images shooting birds in flight is ludicrously low. I listened to the hype surrounding the autofocus improvements on the K3iii, what a mistake, it's back to Sony for my bird photography. I will retain my K5iis and K3 for general photography as my first love is Pentax. I am so disappointed.Worth a look at post #673. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/210-pentax-k-3-iii/422582-af-c-k-3iii-impressive-45.html Reading other comments I also get the impression that optimum AF performance, as well as video, are linked to use of PLM lensesThatís a good looking set of images - but means nothing in isolation. In Texas a couple of weeks ago I shot a sequence of Pelicans in flight that were in focus. It means nothing as that is the only occasion I have been able to say that. The K3iii is a super camera to use, itís handling, viewfinder etc.etc. are great, but for autofocus on subjects moving quickly - sorry to say, forget it!

Problem firmware update 1.31 for K3iii

I just edited my previous to show the datestamp on fwdc233b.bin it is 2021-11-12 08:05. which is later than your download. Dave KWell, I deleted any trace of the previous file (Nov 2nd and today), downloaded it again, and guess what - it worked! Thanks for the prompting, Dave :D

Problem firmware update 1.31 for K3iii

Am I going daft? The file for the 1.31 firmware update is fwdc233b.bin - when I have copied it to the root directory of the sd card and then instigated the update process, the message I get is "update from version 1.21 to 1.21!" Just out of interest I carried out the update, but it did not change the version. Upon checking back on the downloads on my Mac I find that fwdc233b.bin appears on Nov 2nd - the update I carried out on my new K3iii !! Does this mean that Ricoh have issued the incorrect file? I would appreciate some input. Thank you.
To beep or not to beep?

Of course had you kept the A9 you wouldn't need the bleep to tell you when you had lock on because it just does it  How did you find the 150-450mm on the K3 III?Youíre right about the Sony ! On reasonably static subjects, so far itís super. Sharp as a tack and quick focusing. Iíve yet to try it seriously on BIF - Iíll let you know when I do. The body lens combo looks very promising.

Is this is AF-S or AF-C (or both}? Mike - well spotted. I was using AF-C, when I switch to AF-S the beep functions. Thatís an explanation, but I still find it disappointing (and illogical) that itís not available when using the viewfinder.

My K3iii beeps on focus confirmation via the viewfinder, I suspect yours either has a fault with the AF mechanism, or it's a menu setting that needs switching on. Kind Regards DavidInterestingly enough, SRS said their demo K3iii beeped in live view, but not when viewfinder was used! My original K3 beeps when viewfinder used.
To beep or not to beep?
Posted in Pentax Digital SLRs
I've very recently acquired a new K3iii. Today I went out for the first time to try to do some serious bird photography. Although I generally do not use the autofocus achieved 'beep' when in the proximity of birds, I do find it useful when further away. Anyway I could not get any beep with the autofocus, irrespective of what lens was being used. The camera is set up properly and will beep, for example, when the A-EL button is pressed etc etc, but not when either the AF button or shutter button is used to focus. Interestingly, when using live view rather than the viewfinder, it beeps away to its' hearts content. SRS are trying to establish if this is a feature of the camera. I find it illogical for it to work in live view and not with the viewfinder. Does anyone have any thoughts or possible explanation? Are all K3iii's the same? I look forward to some musings.:D
