Thanks for the links. My asumption was that I would pre-focus and expose on something like a bird feeder. Then all I have to do is connect pins 1 and 3 to take the picture.

Interesting. I went looking for a Pentax Forum just for this very question. I have an MZ-7. I want to go to up to 100 feet, (30 Meters). I have discovered that a small two pin connector I have plugs into the top two pins. I tried a 10 foot piece of telephone wire. (solid wire), jointed the two ends together and touched the other two to the top two pins and the camera fired. Now all I need is 100 feet of that wire, a switch button of some type and wire it all together. I hope to get bird pictures at our bird feeder in the back yard. Cheers from Canada.
