It's probably rare because they stopped making it for the k mount - and because it's an expensive lens like you said. It's build like Leica or Zeiss and that costs money to make.

I have sold almost all of my manual lenses because my eye sight is so poor now that manual focus is out of the question and I need get auto focus. This is my last manual lens and the best I have had. The second best (normal lens) was my 50mm f1.4 Pentax-A. But that is much less sharp at f1.4 compared to the Voigtlander.
