Hi all,
I want to know about pentax k-x/k-m/k-7..
People have said that sony cameras has better dynamic range than others?!
I want to know their noise performance compare to Sony A700.
I currently own Sony A700 and noise is ok up to ISO 800...if it gets to 1600 then I can see serious noise in my picture.
And I am after a camera that can give me a rich camera for landscape as well.Although I can process it in photoshop/lightroom....
But it is very hard for me to choice if I want to go to pentax..
And my budget cannot make me to get the top glass yet.
Mayb a 17-70mm or 16-45mm. and third party ultra wide angle.
And might a 35mm as well..

Kevin,
Welcome, and there is plenty to read if you are looking for info on Pentax (or compatible) glass.
Is there a post about Pentax mount??Kevin,
Welcome, and there is plenty to read if you are looking for info on Pentax (or compatible) glass.
As I know that there are KAF1/2/3 version of the auto focus lens mount.
Also what does FA/DA/A etc means??
Quite confused currently as very new to pentax.
Also would like to know anyone would compare lenses from different brand?
Cos, I have Sony A700, 16-80CZ and 11-18mm Sony..
And would like to know similar configuration for pentax
Heard that the 16-45mm/17-70mm F4 both are quite reasonable lens.
But looking at warehouseexpress the 12-24mm kind of un-affordable to me currently.

Hi all, first post in this forum
I am a Uni student from Manchester.
Been with talkphotography for a year and just started to get interested in pentax dslr
Currently using Sony Alpha Dslr. might consider changing to Pentax.
Would like to look at some info about the glass first.

Seems that the 16-45 and 16-50 are giving very nice image.
But want to see 17-70mm..
Also does anyone buy 16-45/50 more than 17-70mm because of 16mm and for 16-50 F2.8?
Also I am looking for a camera that is simliar to Sony A700.
10-15MP, 5fps continuous shot, >95% converage..of course 100% is the best.
9+ points focus with faster focus at the center point (even good at F5.6)
Has both front and rear dial for exposure and aperture in A mode.
I guess does these stuff makes me to get K-7?
But then ISO performance on K-7 is good?
Cause in dpreview saying that if shooting more than 800+ need to reduce via program..
